Unfortunately, I can't quite confirm the many positive reviews. It's entirely possible that we just had a bad day. Everyone was happy with the food. However, a starter was forgotten to serve. After we addressed this, the cook said that the ingredients were all there. Then he went back to the kitchen. Only when the main course was served was an apology. Everyone can forget something, but doesn't want to sell anything? Why is no alternative offered to the guest? I can’t understand that. When we wanted to order the dessert, it was said here - unfortunately everyone. That can happen too. But we were pretty much the first guests that evening, so a lot of people came after us. Then why don't I mention right at the beginning that the dessert is unfortunately no longer available today. So you can then decide on a starter. Here, too, one wonders again - isn't that what the business wants? All in all, the evening was fine. We have great understanding for the current situation due to Corona. But please do not press the guest on the nose right at the beginning, that if it goes on like this, you will throw in the towel anyway. As a guest you don't feel comfortable after such a statement. Maybe we will give the forester's house another chance if it is still open by then and will be happy to correct our first impression. PS: I was happy to pay for the soup that was billed too much. Finally, we saved one starter and two desserts.

Probably the most creative menu (changing themes) and the best-tasting food in Annaberg-Buchholz is available here. The friendly service rounded off the positive overall impression. Clear recommendation, especially since the prices are not excessive.

I’ve worked almost 10 months as a waiter. I have a great experience with Forsthaus team. They are very friendly,helpful and decent people. Unfortunately for my personal reasons I have to leave the job but I can’t forget for ever this wonderful experience. I’m Muslim I don’t eat pork,don’t drink alcohol. My Boss more care about that as compared to me. She and He are the great personality. I felt like my family member. I’ll miss everyone from Forsthaus especially my best friend Nils’. Going there every time we're in Annaberg....changing menu...good service....never had a bad meal there! Especially the venison and wild boar are a treat!

Very good restaurant! Always happy. I had the carrot and coconut soup as an appetizer and I still rave about it today. :-) Everything is very comfortably furnished. There is a star deduction because I found no desserts in the map and was not asked if we want one. In addition, the beverage supply did not quite work. BUT I recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in the area and drives past it.

A great place to stay! The hotel looks very inviting from the outside, although it is on a busy street. Inside it is lovingly decorated, very clean and tidy. Breakfast and dinner are excellent, the many homemade dishes leave nothing to be desired. The innkeeper and his family do a great job, so that the guests feel completely well. It's worth a visit!

Stayed there last year - fantastic location, clean, classic and amazing food. I would highly recommend come summer or Winter - in fact, I am looking to come again this winter!
